Lily's Friday Prediction 01/22/2012 Entry - The Secret Life of the TWILIGHT Obsessed

The Secret Life of the TWILIGHT Obsessed

“Naomi, what’s number twelve; largest human organ?”

I smiled suggestively and David laughed.

“Don’t think so, dirty mind.”

Studying was interrupted when my squealing sister burst in.

“Daddy confirmed the ballet studio! Should the party be B.Y.O.G?”

“What Sissy?” David looked so cute confused.

“My birthday party, and call me Bella.”

I rolled my eyes. “Bella’s hoping a glittery vampire will come. I’m not following the B.Y.O.G though.”

“Bring your own gasoline, duh.” She stuck out her tongue.

“You’re spoiled but Dad’s not going to allow arson.”

As Sissy flounced away David shuddered. "That Stephenie Meyer book rots brains."

Lily's Friday Prediction 01/13/2012 Entry - The Hoarder

Poor Lily isn't feeling well lately. I hope she recovers soon.

The Hoarder

I peel the gems and gobble the meat inside. Of my riches the jewels sustain me.  Except for the rubies, I stay away from them. So like human blood in appearance the fruit inside is bitter to my tongue.

My glorious wings hang limp from shattered shoulder blades, but my blood still yearns to fly to the wild song of the wind.

Eons I've been trapped here in my cavern, eating the treasure I stayed to guard rather than evacuate. Ages pass and the screams of my brethren strike at my heart. Until, finally I am the last dragon.

Lily's Friday Prediction 01/06/2012 Entry: Party Guest

Over at Lily Childs Feardom you can enter her flash fiction challenge. Write 100 words or less and make sure to include the words London, sham, and collect (other variations are also acceptable). Here is my offer for the week:

Party Guest

Balloons drift limply to the floor; the party decorations hanging haphazard throughout the house. A dazed girl in a torn party dress wanders about, wincing at the loud music. She ignores a platter of congealed London broil on the dining table, making her way to the front door.

Her head cocks in puzzlement at the bottleneck she finds. Bodies with empty eye sockets that glare red are piled about like pillow shams.

Softly singing Portishead’s “All Mine” she grabs a jar off the floor, smiling at the eyeballs it contains.

Marie is a collector and she has only just begun.

Lily's Friday Prediction 12/30/2011 Entry: Her Vow of Silence

Her Vow of Silence

Ellis,

Our connection was unbelievable,
was.

But you believe everyone experiences sadness; that I just need to knuckle down and fight it off. I’ve tried and I can’t do it anymore. When I tried to find help, I’d see your face when you warned me that you’d never forgive me if the kids got taken away and I couldn’t dial the number. Silence is the answer, and there is only one way for true commitment.

I love you all.

Rebecca

The note was crumpled when Ellis hugged his children; his eyes never left her body until it was gone.
